WOODRUFF Roy Palmer Garrett, 84, of Woodruff, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Roy was the husband of Evelyn Smith Garrett for 63 years and the son of the late Sam O. and Louise Morgan Garrett.

  He retired from the former Reeves Brothers Corporation after 43 years, as their Corporate Human Resource Director. He loved his Lord, his family, his Church family, the great outdoors and all wildlife. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, a Mason and Shriner.

  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, whom he loved and lived for, a daughter, Pam Garner (Dennis), 2 sons, Sammy Garrett (Pam), and Michael Garrett, 4 grandchildren, Melody Blighton (Adrian), Nick Garner (Claudia), Ashton Pruitt (Phillip Jr.), and Devin Garrett and 2 great-grandchildren, Harper Blighton and Phillip Pruitt III, all of Woodruff. He is also survived by a brother, Edwin Garrett of St. Petersburg, Florida and many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, all of whom he loved very much.  

  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary in Woodruff, SC.

  A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Reverend Fred Quidley, Reverend Carey Caldwell, and Reverend Dennis Garner officiating.
