Roy Junior Phillips

MOORE- Roy Junior Phillips, 74, of 269 Pearson Town Road went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

  He was born December 4, 1947, in Spartanburg County to the late Lee Phillips and Lucille Jennings West.  He was a member of Roebuck Church of God where he served as Secretary/Treasurer for many years.  Roy served in the U.S. Navy, retiring with over 23 years of service and was a part-time employee with the J.F. Floyd Mortuary.

  Surviving is his wife Linda Faye Richards Phillips of the home; three sons, Jeff (Deborah) Phillips of Greer, Richie Phillips of Moore and Joey Phillips (Jaclene Sidwell) of Spartanburg; four sisters, Jean West of Gray Court, Sue Lee of Woodruff, Rita Dominquez of Woodruff and Margaret Ann Peeler of Woodruff; two brothers, Willie Phillips of Woodruff and Eddie Phillips of Spartanburg; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Roebuck Church of God by Rev. Richie Laster and a Eulogy by Mr. Joey Phillips.  Interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck.  Mr. Phillips will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. to await the hour of service.

  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22., 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary in Woodruff.

  Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Phillips, Richie Phillips, Joey Phillips, Zack Phillips, Waylon Phillips, Mark Hardwick and Dwayne Curtis.
