Ryan Eugene Christopher
WOODRUFF- Ryan Eugene Christopher, 74, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his residence.
He was born November 15, 1946 to the late Harry Martin Christopher and Willie Cleo McGathy Christopher Motsinger. He was a lifelong member of Mills Mill/Cornerstone Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director, Deacon, Usher, RA Director and Sunday School Teacher. He was retired from Stevens Aviation, served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and was a carrier for the Spartanburg Herald Journal. He was employed by Woodruff High School and Woodruff Chevrolet. He held several records at Woodruff High School for Baseball and Track & Field. Ryan was a lifelong Gamecock Fan and a true Patriot of the United States. He had a servant’s heart and loved nothing more than serving the Lord, honoring his wife and enjoying his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Malinda Faye Simmons Christopher of the home; his children, Micheal Christopher (Donna) Tracie Trail (Billy), Kimberly Lanford (Kirk-Deceased), and Christie Stephenson (Justin); brother, Reggie Christopher (Janice) of Williamston; special cousin, Kay Stribble of Woodruff; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church by Rev. Doug Huntsinger and Rev. Carey Caldwell. Interment will Military Rites will be held at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
Serving as pallbearers Justin Christopher, Preston Trail, Jacob Lanford, Jordan Lanford, Jackson Stephenson, Jayden Lanford, Adam Bryant and Jason Lawson. Honorary Escort will be the Current and Former Deacons of Mills Mill/Cornerstone Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 301 University Ridge, Ste. 55, Greenville, S.C. or Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 9480 Hwy. 221, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
The family is at the residence.
