WOODRUFF- Shirley Cooper Owens, 87, of 104 Winter Street went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 22, 2022, at her home.

  She was born October 11, 1935, in Spartanburg County to the late Homer Alfred and Lois Grace Wilson Cooper and was the widow of James Harvey Owens.  She was a member of Cavins Baptist Church and was a retired employee with General Electric.

  Surviving are two daughters, Betty Jean Hughes of Woodruff and Sheila Theo of Rockwall, Texas; one son, James “Jim” Owens (Ruth) of Enoree; 6 grandchildren, Nick Smith, Ashley Sanders, Savannah French, Sam Owens, Dawn Hughes and Bryan Hughes; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Cavins Baptist Church by Rev. Carrol Caldwell.  Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

  Visitation will be held Monday, October 24, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cavins Baptist Church, 1701 SJ Workman Highway, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.

  The family is at the residence, 104 Winter Street, Woodruff.
