WOODRUFF- David Ted Johnson,81, of 1409 Old Spartanburg Highway went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 1, 2025, at Regional Hospice Home.

  He was born July 9, 1944, in Spartanburg County to the late Robert Johnson Sr. and Virginia Grace Carlton Johnson and was the widower of Carolyn Waddell Johnson.  He was a member of West End Baptist Church and was a retired lineman with Sumter Utilities.  He was a member of Bethel Masonic Lodge #112 and was a Shriner.

  Surviving are two daughters, Tobie Lanford (Ray) of Madison, Georgia and Tammy Nelson (Richie) of Woodruff; two sons, Teddy Earl Johnson (Kelly) of Woodruff and Eddie Cook (Johnson) (Sonya) of Boiling Springs; a special friend, Sandra Blackwell of Inman; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  He was the last surviving member of his family being predeceased by his sisters, Blanche Wood, Nell Casey, Dot Raines, Nancy Saxon, Robert Johnson Jr., Whitey Johnson, Joe Johnson, Wick Johnson, Ed Johnson and Bruce “Curly” Johnson.

  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary by Rev. Rex Keaton and Masonic Rites rendered by Bethel Masonic Lodge #112.  Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

  Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
