Timothy D. Easter
Timothy Duncan Easter,61, of Greer, South Carolina passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Tim was born on April 24, 1963, in Asheville, North Carolina. He was the beloved son of Elaine Kiser Easter and Romley Ray Easter. He graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1981. He proudly received a B.A. in Music from Furman University in 1985, where he met his wife of 37 years, Dani Sigman Easter. He dedicated himself to his music and had a distinguished career with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra for 45 years, ultimately obtaining the role of Principal Bass. He also performed Principal Bass with the South Carolina Philharmonic for 27 years. Over his career he played with the Asheville Symphony, Savannah Symphony, Augusta Opera, Augusta Symphony, Hendersonville Symphony, Savannah Symphony, Spartanburg Symphony and Charleston Symphany. He also performed with many notable artists, including Edgar Myer, Bela Fleck, Tessa Lark, Keith Lockhart, Los Angelas Piano Quartet, The Eagles and The Moody Blues. His favorite composer was Dmitri Shostakovich.
Outside of his love for classical music, Tim enjoyed old movies, trivia, SNL, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He was known for his soft-spokenness, kindness, loyalty, humility, integrity, sense of humor, and his non-tech ways.
He is survived by his wife, Dani, of Greer, South Carolina; his sister, Laura Lawrence (Laurence), of Asheville, North Carolina; and his parents, Elaine and Ray Easter of Chandler, North Carolina.
A service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel, 257 North Main Street, Woodruff, South Carolina.
A visitation will immediately follow the service at the Willow Creek Clubhouse, 203 Sandy Run Drive, Greer, South Carolina.
