William Leroy Koon Sr., 68, widower of Nancy Redden Koon passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at his home.

Born March 27, 1954, in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Clarence Joseph Koon Sr. and Nellie Shelton Koon. He was a retired farmer and a member of Gray Court Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving is his daughter, Melanie Deanne Koon of Gray Court; son, William Leroy Koon Jr. (Milly) of Gray Court; sisters, Reba Young (Jason) of Gray Court, Angeline Roper (Ray) of Six Mile; brothers, Anthony Wayne Koon (Karen) of Gray Court, Bill Koon (Lib) of Laurens; grandchildren, Jesse Koon (Chandler), Summer Owens (Jalen), Joseph Poole (Skylar), Hailey Koon and a great-grandson, Carter Owens.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Lindsey and brothers, John Koon, J.R. Koon and James Koon.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in the chapel of Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary with Reverend Steve Christopher and Reverend Jesse Koon officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.
