Yvonne Cook Norris
Yvonne Norris, resident of Viera, Florida but previously from Crescent and Woodruff, South Carolina passed away on Monday, August 16 from cancer. She was 90 years old, but healthy and vibrant until very near the end. Her decline was rapid and merciful. Yvonne is now with her husband of 64 years George Norris who passed away 7 years before her, her parents Pierce and Juanita Cook, and her son Mark who died at 29 in a car accident. George was a pastor and Yvonne was a housewife, a pastor’s wife, and a woman of God who was very active in the church. As she firmly knew would be the case, she is in a much better place now.
Yvonne is remembered with great love by her family. She was the kindest woman we have ever known and devoted to her family. Her gentleness and kindness will be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her. She always had the time to see to the needs of a grandchild or great-grandchild. She was always a lady, dressed impeccably, but wouldn’t hesitate to open her house to someone in need or her heart to everyone near. Every member of her family will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her three siblings, Carol Cook (Jo), Wilton Cook (Carol), and Anne Smith (Maxie), two children, Marie Morton and Frank Norris (Anne), seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Early (John), Mike Polaski (Kara), Paul Polaski (Holly), Kristen Konduros, Frank Norris (Mimi), Katie Norris, and Elizabeth Duffell (Austin), twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 21st, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bellview Baptist Church in Woodruff by Reverend Carey Caldwell. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
We will miss you mom.
